熊本県生まれ。中央大学卒業後、東京藝術大学音楽学部声楽科に入学。同大学院在学中の86年、ミュンヘン音大に留学、エルンスト・ヘフリガーに学ぶ。 90-91年D.フィッシャー=ディースカウに師事。
95年東京藝術大学大学院博士課程を修了。 宗教曲の分野で、初期バロックから現代作品まで幅広いレパートリーを持ち、とりわけバッハの受難曲における福音史家の演奏には定評がある。また、ドイツ・リート及び日本歌曲の演奏にも積極的に取り組んでおり、96年から<ドイツ・リートのたのしみ>と題した、ドイツ歌曲を知るためのレクチャーを開催。2004年からはシューベルトの《冬の旅》演奏会を毎年開催している。さらに合唱指揮者、発声指導者としても幅広く活動する傍らドイツ詩の翻訳も手がけ、近年は楽譜の校訂・編集にも携わっている。立教大学大学院キリスト教学研究科兼任講師。
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture, he graduated from Chuo University before entering the Department of Vocal Music at Tokyo University of the Arts. While enrolled in the university’s graduate program, he studied at the Munich University of Music in 1986 under Ernst Haefliger. From 1990 to 1991, he continued his studies with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. He completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts in 1995.
Specializing in sacred music, he has cultivated a broad repertoire ranging from early Baroque works to contemporary compositions. He is particularly acclaimed for his performances of the Evangelist in J. S. Bach’s Passion settings. In addition, he is actively engaged in the performance of German Lieder and Japanese art songs. Since 1996, he has presented a lecture series entitled “Enjoying German Lieder,” designed to deepen audiences’ appreciation of German song. Since 2004, he has given annual performances of Schubert’s Winterreise.
Alongside his activities as a singer, he is widely active as a choral conductor and vocal coach. He has also translated German poetry and, in recent years, has been involved in the editing and critical revision of musical scores. He serves as a part-time lecturer at the Graduate School of Christian Studies, Rikkyo University.
新妻 由加 (練習オルガニスト)
東京藝術大学オルガン専攻および同大学院音楽研究科修士課程を経て、スイスのバーゼル市立音楽院古楽科スコラ・カントルムにてオルガンの歴史的奏法を学ぶ。
帰国後は東京を中心に演奏や指導を行うほか、通奏低音奏者として合唱団や古楽器奏者との共演、録音等に力を注いでいる。
日本聖公会聖マーガレット教会、立教新座中学校・高等学校オルガニスト。
After completing studies in organ performance at Tokyo University of the Arts and its Graduate School of Music, she studied historical organ performance practice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, the early music department of the Academy of Music in Basel, Switzerland.
Since returning to Japan, she has been active as a performer and teacher, primarily in Tokyo. She is also deeply involved as a continuo player, collaborating with choirs and period-instrument ensembles in concerts and recordings.
She serves as Organist of St. Margaret’s Church, Nippon Sei Ko Kai (The Anglican Episcopal Church in Japan), and of Rikkyo Niiza Junior and Senior High School.
